How we make money
Our guides are free to read. This page explains who pays us and how.
Quote requests
When you submit a quote request, we send it to home-safety installers and partners who serve your ZIP code. Those companies pay us a fee for the introduction. You pay nothing for the service, and you are never obligated to buy. Installers set their own prices; our fee is not added to your quote.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase or sign up, the retailer or provider pays us a commission. The price you pay is the same. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. We also participate in affiliate programs run by medical alert providers and other retailers.
What this does not change
- Which products appear in a guide, and in what order.
- Prices we report, which come from published sources and are dated.
- Our willingness to say when a cheaper or simpler option is the better choice.
What we do not do
- Accept payment for reviews or rankings.
- Publish sponsored content dressed up as a guide.
- Sell your contact details to anyone who did not receive your quote request.
